Cody Barnhill, LMSW
Licensed Master Social Worker
Cody Barnhill completed his master’s in Social Work at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and specializes in substance use disorders, trauma, anxiety, and depression.
Cody offers a diverse range of therapeutic modalities, though his primary modality is Acceptance & Integration Training (AAIT), in which he is a certified practitioner. AAIT works through an acceptance-based and non-dual framework to help clients resolve problems with relative speed and ease. He utilizes Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to address beliefs that keep individuals “stuck” and unable to fully heal from trauma. He also uses elements of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Schema Therapy in his holistic approach to meet each individual’s needs in therapy.
Cody endorses an unconditional-positive-regard approach to offer non-judgmental support for everyone he works with. He aims to help strengthen an individual’s insight and understanding of themselves and strategize how to help apply those insights into the individual’s life.
