intensive outpatient program for substance use
Recovery is possible and the journey begins here. Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is often a first step in early addiction and can help with maintaining sobriety. IOP can also serve as continuing care following the completion of a residential and/or partial hospitalization program (PHP).
The goal of IOP is to assist patients in the development of cognitive, emotional, and behavioral coping skills to apply in their daily lives while creating a supportive environment in which they can process these changes. Through therapeutic process groups, patients develop an understanding of relapse warning signs, and establish a strong relapse prevention plan.
Skills and training topics include:
Identifying triggers and managing cravings
Drug refusal and assertive communication skills
Interpersonal effectiveness and impulse control
Distress tolerance and stress management
Grounding techniques and self-care
Understanding the 12-Steps
Healthy boundaries and codependency issues
Family dynamics and relationships
Relapse prevention and safety planning
The IOP program is on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9am-12pm. Treatment also includes drug screenings and breathalyzers. Our continuing Alumni Therapeutic Group and Alumni Program are both offered complimentary after treatment is complete through our Chattanooga location (with options to participate both virtually or in-person).
